چکیده

In contrast to Part I of this treatise [1] that focuses on the optimization problems associated with single matrix variables, in paper, we investigate application matrix-monotonic framework multiple variables. It is revealed still works even for matrix-variate based problems, provided certain conditions are satisfied. Using framework, optimal structures variables can be derived and substantially simplified. several specific examples given, which essentially open problems. Firstly, multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU- MIMO) uplink communications under various power constraints. proposed precoding matrices at each user constraints derived. Secondly, considered signal compression sensor distributed networks. Finally, transceiver multi-hop amplify-and-forward (AF) MIMO relaying networks imperfect channel state information (CSI) At end simulation results given demonstrate accuracy theoretical results.

Contour Crafting Process Plan Optimization Part II: Multi–Machine Cases

Contour Crafting is an emerging technology that uses robotics to construct free form building structures by repeatedly laying down layers of material such as concrete. The Contour Crafting technology scales up automated additive fabrication from building small industrial parts to constructing buildings. Tool path planning and optimization for Contour Crafting benefit the technology by increasin...

Byzantine Multi-Agent Optimization: Part II

In Part I of this report, we introduced a Byzantine fault-tolerant distributed optimization problem whose goal is to optimize a sum of convex (cost) functions with real-valued scalar input/ouput. In particular, the goal is to optimize a global cost function 1 |N | ∑ i∈N hi(x), where N is the set of non-faulty agents, and hi(x) is agent i’s local cost function, which is initially known only to a...

Application of Multi-objective Optimization for Optimization of Half-toroidal Continuously Variable Transmission

Among different goals defined in vehicle design process, fuel consumption (FC) is one of the most important objectives, which significantly has taken into account lately, both by the customers and vehicle manufacturers. One of the significant parameters which impacts the vehicle FC is the efficiency of vehicle's power train. In this paper, a half-toroidal continuously variable transmission (CVT...

Discrete Monotonic Global Optimization

Recently a general mathematical framework has been developed [3] for studying mathematical programming problems described by means of increasing functions, or more generally, differences of increasing functions. It has been shown in [3] that any mathematical programming problem of this class can be reduced to an equivalent problem of the following form, called canonical monotonic optimization p...

Part I: Methods Optimization under Composite Monotonic Constraints and Constrained Optimization over the Efficient Set

We present a unified approach to a class of nonconvex global optimization problems with composite monotonic constraints. (By composite monotonic function is meant a function which is the composition of a monotonic function on R n with a mapping from R n → R m with m ≤ n.) This class includes problems with constraints involving products of linear functions, sums of ratio functions, etc., and als...
